Last week, we did impromptu polls, and in the second poll, it was a 50:50 result between Google and OpenAI being the leaders by the end of 2025 in the Search market. While not scientifically done, this tells us that we look at OpenAI as a growing threat against Google’s dominance. True, yes! But another sword hangs over OpenAI’s head – by the end of 2024, they would have lost over 5 billion dollars. Will its supporters continue to fund it? Microsoft has promised to fund OpenAI with $13Bn but has already listed them as a competitor in the annual report. What will happen next? Will competitors continue putting pressure on them? Will Google lower their prices to make OpenAI’s entry less profitable in the Search segment? What will be the impact of the latest Anti-trust ruling against Google? What will happen if OpenAi lose more money next year?
It’s heading towards a “Pascal’s Wager” … interesting times ahead. 😊 Stay tuned, will keep you all updated on the developments.
